We have a sponsored Level I ADR (American Depositary Receipts) program. An ADR is the physical certificate that evidences any number of American Depositary Shares (ADS). The American Depositary Shares are not listed. Learn more about our ADRs.

Normally, we pay a yearly dividend. Dividends are paid as and when decided by our board of directors and general meeting. Read more on our dividends.

The Yara share is traded on the Oslo Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol YAR. Unfortunantely, we do not have a direct share purchase plan. To buy shares in our company, we recommend you you contact any brokerage firm.

We were spun off from Norsk Hydro and listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange as a separate company on March 25, 2004.

Dividends paid by the Yara ADR could have taxes withheld by the Norwegian government. Depending on your individual circumstances, any foreign taxes withheld may be able to be applied as a credit against U.S. taxes. You should consult with your own tax advisor as to the specific tax consequences to you of any withheld tax.

The registrar or transfer agent keeps a record of every outstanding share certificate and the name of the person to whom it is registered. When registered shares change hands, the registrar transfers the ownership of the share from the seller’s name to the buyer’s name. The registrar reconciles all transfer records and makes sure that the number of shares debited is equal to the number of shares credited. Yara's registrar in Norway is DNB Bank while JP Morgan Chase is the depository bank in the US.

The par value ("pålydende") of the Yara share is NOK 1.70.
