As a chemical company largely working in and serving the agricultural sector worldwide, Yara holds memberships in several associations and advocacy organizations.
Yara is a member of IFA, a non-profit organization representing the global fertilizer industry. IFA has some 525 members in 85 countries, of which half of the memberships are based in developing countries.
Yara is a corporate member of Fertilizers Europe, which represents the major fertilizer manufacturers in Europe. The 25 corporate and association members account for about four-fifths of Europe's nitrogen fertilizer capacity and more than half of phosphate fertilizer capacity.
Yara is a member of EIGA, a safety and technically oriented organization representing the majority of European and also non-European companies producing and distributing industrial, medical and food gases.
Yara joined the WEF as an Industrial Partner in 2008. The WEF is an international not-for-profit organization engaging leaders in partnerships to shape global, regional and industry agendas.
Yara has participated in the DPF since 2008. The DPF is a partnership among central players aiming to raise awareness and promote debate on development issues and European development policies.
Yara is a corporate participant in the BAA, an international network of businesses and business organizations from Africa and elsewhere, aiming to deliver positive change for Africa and its people.
Yara belongs to this organization, which describes itself as “the leading voice” for the fertilizer industry in Washington, DC. The institute works to promote and protect fertilizer from the plant where it is manufactured to the plants where it is used and all points in between.
