Yara supplies process solutions that purify and stabilize water and reduce corrosion in the pipes that transport it to consumers, thus enhancing its quality.
A low pH and lack of calcium and alkalinity can cause corrosion in pipe networks and lead to the release of metals from the pipe systems, reducing water quality for the consumer.
The use of carbon dioxide (CO2) and marble prevents corrosion of the pipes, enables simpler operation and is more economical. Yara also provides a polymer known as polyacrylamide, which binds small particles to larger aggregates (flocs), to result in cleaner water.
Yara provides marble used in potable water treatments plants, to help avoid pipe corrosion.
Yara provides flocculants in the form of polymers to de-water sludge. These are available both in powder or liquid form, and need to be used with required protective equipment.
