We help our clients meet increasingly stringent standards around the world. Yara’s environmental solutions are already cleaning more than double the amount of NOx emissions that a country like Norway produces.
NOx is a generic term for various nitrogen oxides produced from all kinds of combustion, including engines and furnaces, that react with oxygen in the air to produce ground-level ozone. They are believed to aggravate asthma and are one of the main causes of acid rain.
Hydrogen sulfide is a toxic and potentially lethal gas found in both industrial installations and in the wastewater systems. Yara’s odor-control solutions don’t just treat the odor, but actually prevent its root cause, septicity, which is caused by a lack of oxygen.
Yara offers process solutions that provide a better purifying effect, reduce corrosion in pipes and stabilize water so that it’s of good quality when it reaches the consumer. A low pH and lack of calcium and alkalinity can cause corrosion in a pipe network and lead to the release of metals from the pipe systems, thus causing a deterioration of water quality.
