“Uniquely positioned to benefit from market recovery”
Businessman, engineer and farmer; extensive international experience from global business. These are key features of Jørgen Ole Haslestad, Chief Executive Officer of Yara International ASA, who joined the company in October 2008, previously serving as a member of the Board.
Haslestad has broad corporate experience from an extensive career in major global business operations in Asia, America, and Europe; regions that are all major markets for Yara. Until joining Yara, he spent 14 years with Siemens AG, most recently as Divisional CEO of Industry Solutions. At Siemens, Haslestad was one of a core group of senior executives elected to become the new leadership of the group’s global business.
Haslestad holds a M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH), and still actively works his native farm in Norway – himself being a Yara customer.
