The Yara Prize for an African Green Revolution

 

The Yara Prize was established in 2005 to honor outstanding contributions towards an African Green Revolution in support of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. The Prize is awarded annually by the Yara Foundation.

The Yara Prize supports and directs attention to efforts made to fight poverty and hunger in Africa and recognizes measures that increase food production and value creation in any field related to African agriculture.

 

 

The Yara Prize 2007 in Recognition of Entrepreneurship

The Yara Prize 2007 was shared by two African entrepreneurs: Akin Adesina from Nigeria and Josephine Okot of Uganda. The Prize was awarded at a ceremony closing the African Green Revolution Conference in Oslo, Norway, September 1, 2007.
