Safety first

Our stance is that injuries, occupational illnesses and safety and environmental mishaps are all preventable - and our goal is to reduce all of these incidents to zero. In 2005 Yara received recognition for meeting the highest environmental and social standards within our industry.

Health, safety, environmental and product stewardship issues are a matter for management as well as the work force. Yara's Board of Directors must be informed of the relevant issues and produce apt policy. Management in each business area shoulders the responsibility of educating, training and motivating staff to meet Yara's HESQ goals. Safety is a basic condition of working at Yara - at any level in the company.
