ANFO was developed 40 years ago and has grown to be the most widely used industrial blasting agent in the world. This is due to several factors, the most important being:

By using various additives the use of ANFO can be extended: e.g Aluminium (increased energy) or Guar Gum (increased water resistance). It is a well known fact in the industry that by adding ANFO to emulsion the blasting performance is increased and the sensitivity of the emulsion is improved.
