Spiral freezer
In the spiral freezer, the conveyor belt is moved by a drive motor which propels the belt in a spiral movement. The belt and drum are built into an insulated rust-proofed casing with a quadratic surface.
The belt normally moves in an upwards direction and the product is guided from the bottom to the top. The injection nozzles are placed at several locations. The cold gas comes into contact with the product with the help of powerful circulation fans, ensuring an optimal absorption of heat.
A typical temperature area for fast freezing is from -50 to -600C.
The used gas-containing atmosphere is extracted from the freezer through a suction canal combined with a powerful fan, ensuring that the gas is led out into the open.
The conveyor belt in a spiral freezer is narrower and longer than the belt in a freezer tunnel with corresponding capacity. All control and steering functions are assembled in one control cabinet by the side of the freezer.
