What is septicity ?

The presence of hydrogen sulphide (H₂S) in wastewater and sludge is defined as a septic condition. Septicity is a result of anaerobic bacterial activity in absence of oxygen or nitrate.

H₂S  is odorous, corrosive and toxic.The impacts of H₂S are expensive and completely unnecessary.

How  does NUTRIOX® work ?

It is a natural biological method of preventing septicity and removing H₂S by controlled dosage of nitrate. The use of NUTRIOX® causes a change in the microbial population in the water. Sulphide producing bacteria are out competed by more beneficial bacteria transforming nitrate and organic compounds into nitrogen and carbon dioxide. H₂S already present is oxidized back into sulphate and sulphur.

Optimal and controlled dosing

Productions of H₂S in septic water can vary considerably over short time. The need for NUTRIOX® will also vary in the same way. An optimal dosing of NUTRIOX® results in a complete removal of existing sulphide and the subsequent prevention of sulphide formation. Zero sulphide or a low acceptable sulphide level will be reached under all conditions, such as with varying flow, sulphide level, BOD concentration and temperature.

We have developed special designed process control systems to provide optimal dosing of NUTRIOX®.

The process control system utilise a dynamic dosing model which measures and takes into account variable factors and ensures the best possible result for you at all times.
