Ammonium nitrate

Ammonium nitrate (NH₄NO₃) is colourless crystals or white prills with melting point 169 ^oC. Decomposes when heated above 210 ^oC. Very soluble in water. Ammonium nitrate is produced from ammonia vapour and nitric acid.

Main application for ammonium nitrate is in fertilizer (either as such or mixed with other nutrients). Most all civil explosives are based on ammonium nitrate. .

Ammonium nitrate, MEDICAL GRADE is a very pure quality of ammonium nitrate, sold and used world wide. Addition of anticaking is not allowed.

Ammonium nitrate, MEDICAL GRADE is decomposed under controlled conditions in order to produce LAUGHING GAS (nitrous oxide).
