pH-control
We have developed a pH control consept using liquid carbon dioxide, CO2, which has become a well proven technology and a beneficial alternative to mineral acid.
CO2 for pH control - a way forward to be in charge of Health, Environment and Safety.
Is pH a problem ?
A pH out of standard will cause lots of severe problems like malfunction of downstream biological or chemical processes, corrosion and risk of collaps of downstream sewers or simply not complying with standards set by the authorities.
pH control with CO2
The pH decreases gradually with increasing CO2 dose and it becomes stable because of the enhanced buffer capacity achieved by the weak acid. This is very different from what is achieved by strong mineral acids like hydrochloric and sulphuric acid.
Customer survey
We offers a survey to site in order to find the need of CO2 and the optimal plant solution taylormade to your need.
Installation
The plant comprises a Storage tank for liquid CO2, pressure control system, a vaporiser, a dosing control system, dissolving system and a control panel for the system. The CO2 is dosed by its own pressure and regulated by a valve controlled by a process control system. The process control system include also a data logger to document the effluent quality.
The pH control
The plant may be an integrated part of an Industrial Effluent Plant or a separate plant. The simplicity of the system makes it easy to taylor make to the clients specification. The installation will be made by our people including start up, commissioning, performance guarantee and training of personnel in HES and how to operate the plant in a simple and safe way.
Operation and performance
The performance of a commisioned plant gives a very constant pH and people often express their surprise about the easy, low maintanance and safe operation compared to other systems based on mineral acid.Carbon dioxide, unlike mineral acids, is able to eliminate the problem of overshooting the desired pH.
