Formation of NOx:

Greater or lesser amounts of NOx are formed by all types of combustion.The most important source of NOx is when some of the atmospheric nitrogen reacts with atmospheric oxygen in the combustion process (thermal NOx).In addition, the nitrogen found in fuel (oil, refuse, coal, etc.) reacts with atmospheric oxygen to form nitrogen oxides (fuel NOx).

Why should NOx be removed?
