Gases are used for welding and cutting in the construction of an oil platform and for maintenance on the rig.

When oil and gas arrive on the platform, speciality gases are utilized as reference in determining the composition and value of the oil and gas. Speciality gases are also used in monitoring the environment with respect to leakages of hazardous, inflammable gases.

Nitrogen is used after maintenance stops in pressure testing of equipment prior to drilling and processing of oil and gas.

LPA - Local Production Plant for nitrogen are used for inertisation, pressure testing and gas lift.

Nitrates (PetroCare® product) are applied to limit formation of hydrogensulphide in the reservoir.
