2004-20052004: QAFCO and Yara celebrate another milestone On April 25th 2004, the Emir of Qatar officially opened QAFCO-4, the world's largest fertilizer factory and, with it, further cemented the relationship between Yara and QAFCO.
2004: New German plant confirmed Yara as Europes leading CO2 supplier On 1st July, 2004, Yara opened its new world class CO2 purification and liquefaction plant in Dormagen, Germany. This strengthened Yara's position as the largest producer and distributor of CO2 to the European food and beverage market.
2004: Taking up the African Challenge in our Centennial Year In marking its centenary, Yara reaffirmed a deep commitment to African development through its contribution to an African Green Revolution to combat hunger and increase food production on the continent.
2004: Yara acquires stake in Russian fertilizer plant In a further move to expand its global operations, Yara entered into a partnership with the Russian fertilizer producer, OAO Minudobreniya ("Rossosh").
2004: Yara gains strong foothold in Australasia As part of its strategy to strengthen its position in Asia and Oceania, Yara acquired a 30 percent stake in Burrup Holdings Pty Ltd.

2005: New deal signed with Chile's SQM Yara increased its indirect ownership in the Chilean specialty fertilizer company, SQM, to 24.9 percent in 2005 strengthening the relationship between the two companies.
2005: Yara opens trailblazing AdBlue plant in Holland In late January 2005 Yara opened the worlds largest AdBlue® plant in the Netherlands to produce its own version of AdBlue, called Air1®.
2005: Yara and Akzo Nobel move towards complete nutrients portfolio On 20th May, 2005, Yara International and Akzo Nobel signed a global marketing cooperation agreement, another step toward providing customers with a complete plant nutrient portfolio.
