Yara Trinidad Ltd currently manages and operates a three-plant ammonia production facility located at Savonetta in central Trinidad.
The strong and successful joint venture ownership of the Trinidad Nitrogen Co Limited (Tringen) is being maintained by Yara International ASA, which owns 100 percent of the Yara Plant and 49 percent of the Tringen I and II Plants through the share structure of Tringen. Nearly all of the site’s annual production of 1.3 million metric tons (99 percent) is exported. This is a significant portion of Trinidad and Tobago’s total export, making Trinidad and Tobago the world’s leading exporter of ammonia.
