Yara's shares are divided among the public and private sector, within Norway and abroad.
Norway's largest shareholder is the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Industry, with 36.2 percent of shares in 2011.
More than 59 percent of Yara's shareholders -- public and private -- are from Norway. US shareholders comprised more than 15 percent of shareholders, and the United Kingdom had more than 6 percent. The remaining percentage is divided among international shareholders.
